Blars' Renaissance Faire Page

This is a list of Renaissance and Renaissance Fantasy Faires of interest to me. Proximity to Los Angeles, California has a lot to do with being listed here. Comments are mine. Please note that I do like fantasy faires, so if you only want "historical" ones that are (imho) no more accurate than the fantasy ones you may want to ignore my optionions. Dates and locations are subject to change. Unless otherwise mentioned, assume all faires listed here are located in California, weekends (and sometimes holidays) only, and prices mentioned are for a single adult daily admission at the gate. Many faires offer child/senior discounts, season passes, advanced purchases, and/or other discounts. Sometimes you can find coupons at other small faires.

Each faire has its own flavor. Some vendors and troups ("guilds") show up at many of the smaller faires, some only ones with the same managment, and others only do one. (One large faire is rumored to forbid it's participants from using the same character, developed with the participants skill and money, at other faires.) All of these faires have things to buy and food to eat, most have additional entertainment like short plays, musical acts, street acts, weapon demonstrations, and juggling. Jousting and battle padgents occur at many, but not all.

Thanks to The Renaissance Herald, (formerly The Renaissance Shopper) for help finding out about smaller faires. It is a quarterly magazine. It's mainly adds, but does have some articles and a list of faires.
