What's new on Blars' Web

Like many netters, I've got a weird mix of interests. (Or is it I'm weird and have a mix of interests? Most likely both.) As a member of fwa I've stuck some info about them on the web. Among them are filk, SF cons, renaissance faires, computers, and naturism. I've got information here about various events in the Los Angeles area, groups I am a member of or interested in, and a few links to other interesting places in the web. There is also some software I've worked on available here.

Due to the amount of spam I was receiving, I've created BlarsBL and tools to use it hinfo and mod_access_rbl.

This is my personal home page, running on one of my machines at home. None of the organizations mentioned here are paying any money for this service. Opinions expressed here are mostly mine and definatly not my employers. The migration of my web site to my home system is complete.

Like the rest of the web, this will mutate unpredictably. If you have any corrections or additions to the stuff maintained here on www.blars.org, or are having trouble sending me email, see my email page: http://www.blars.org/mail.html. If you wish me to link to your page, see: http://www.blars.org/link.html.

Indecent Communications Act

"As a matter of constitutional tradition, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, we presume that government regulation of the content of speech is more likely to interfere with the free exchange of ideas than to encourage it. The interest in encouraging freedom of expression in a democratic society outweighs any theoretical but unproven benefit of censorship."

The US Supreme court decided (this time) to uphold the constitution, and has ruled portions the CDA unconstitutional. See EFF for details.
